Colin Huizing is an independent curator and producer of exhibitions and books for institutions, artists and publishers. He has been working for years as senior curator of the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. For the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam he developed a.o. the exhibition nul = 0, the Dutch nulgroup in an international context (in close collaboration with the ZERO Foundation, Düsseldorf, 2011). In recent years Huizing curated the exhibitions herman de vries – all (2014), Reality According to Jan Schoonhoven (2015) Eye Attack, Op Art and Kinetic Art 1950-1970 (in close collaboration with Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark, 2016), stanley brouwn, man walks on planet earth (2017), Jan Henderikse – Alles en Niets (2018) and Manzoni in Holland (in close collaboration with Fondazione Piero Manzoni, Milan, 2019). In the same period he made a number of exhibitions on contemporary art and artists (a.o.: Marcel van Eeden, Elspeth Diederix, Zoro Feigl, Daan van Golden, Juul Hondius, Gerco de Ruijter, JCJ Vanderheyden, Evi Vingerling, Aukje Koks, Frank van der Salm, Kees Goudzwaard, Gijs Assmann).

In 2015 Huizing co-curated the Dutch entry for the Venice Biennale: herman de vries – to be all ways to be, about the current relation and dislocation between men, culture and nature. The exhibition was sited in the Dutch Pavilion, the Laguna and the city of Venice.

Huizing advices cultural institutions on their policy on collection and exhibition programs, cultural foundations on their policy on grants, and individual artists on their concepts and strategy for exhibitions or book publications.
